We have been fascinated by Strijp-S for years: the old Philips site and historical heritage. This tour of Strijp-S will be a great break-out in your experience at EMCC Global Conference 2024.
During the walk, the emphasis is on the past of Philips, the current creative developments and the future perspective of Strijp-S. The program consists of an introduction at the Natlab. The former Philips Physics Laboratory, were Einstein once spoke. Some great inventions were made (the cassette tape, the CD) that laid the foundations for the 21st century visual culture. Natlab nowadays is a cultural meeting place of contemporary arts with film as a basis.
During the tour the guide will explain about the heritage of the site but will also tell about the recent developments. There are Food bags available for every attended. This to be sure that your food and drinks are covered for that evening.
Good to know
- Food bags are ready for collection at the meeting point. These are part of the tour.
- The food bag contains drinks, food and a souvenir. All based on local productions.
- Duration of the tour is roughly 1.5 hours.
- The tour ends at the meeting point. A big vibrant square with several hospitality options.
- The meeting point is easily accessible by train, bike, car or taxi. Participant should reach the meeting point by themselves.
- Our city guides speak various languages; per group we have 15 people.
- The tour starts at 19:15.
- Gathering and collecting the Food bag is between 18.45 and 19.15.
